How Alchemyst Press collects, uses, shares, and retains information. Last updated 16 September 2026.
Alchemyst Press (press.getalchemystai.com) is published by Alchemyst AI. We collect only what we need to operate this publication, answer your questions, and keep the site secure. We do not sell personal information, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not use cross-site tracking for ads. If you contact us, you are trusting us with your words — this policy explains what happens next, how long we keep things, and how to ask us to delete them.
What we collect
When you browse, our hosting provider processes standard technical logs (such as the pages requested, timestamps, and coarse network information) to deliver pages reliably and prevent abuse. When you use the floating search box, your query is processed to navigate the catalogue and, if you ask a question, to generate an answer either on-device or via our answering API. When you write to us — to pitch a story, propose a manual, or report a correction — we receive whatever you send, typically your name, email address, and the contents of your message, so we can reply and evaluate your pitch.
How we use information
We use information to operate, secure, and improve the site and its search; to respond to pitches, corrections, collaboration and reprint requests; to maintain the publications catalogue; and to comply with legal obligations. We do not use your messages to train advertising models, and we do not disclose pitches without your permission. Aggregate, de-identified statistics (for example, which pages are read most) may guide editorial decisions, but they never identify you.
Cookies and local storage
We use only strictly necessary storage. The search box remembers whether you prefer online inference in your own browser's localStorage — nothing is sent to us until you ask a question that requires the online API. If privacy-respecting aggregate analytics are enabled, they do not follow you across sites. You can clear cookies and site data at any time in your browser settings; the site will continue to work, and your preference will simply reset to the default on-device answering path.
Sharing and retention
We share information only with the service providers needed to run this site — such as Vercel for hosting, Strapi (when configured) for the publications catalogue, and OpenRouter (when you use online answers) for inference — and only as much as each service needs to perform its function. Contact messages are kept for as long as needed to handle your request and maintain an editorial record, then deleted or anonymised on request. Security logs are kept for a limited period and then discarded. We will disclose information only if required by law or to protect the safety and integrity of the site.
Your rights and how to contact us
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, or to ask any question about this policy, contact us via the contact page or Get In Touch. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and explain any limits that apply. For general information about Alchemyst AI, see getalchemystai.com and product docs. If this policy changes materially, we will update the date above and note the change here.
